Letter of the Week - B

This was Cole's favorite tracing activity that we've done so far. I let him use beans and buttons to cover his Bs. For the other two he traced them. The first one he did (left) I let him trace it however he wanted. For the second one (right) I showed him the proper way to make a B. And as usual we practiced our cutting by finding B words in a magazine.

Letter of the Week - B

This idea came right from the No Time for Flashcards site. Cole loved painting and then cutting out his Bee. I am enjoying putting some of my older and scrap scrapbook supplies to good use.

You Should Meet My Altered Ego - Scrapbook T-Shirt

This has always been one of my favorite designs. It was one of our originals and I took it away for a while, but now it's back. It's available on shirts, sweats, bags and even a bumper sticker. You can visit our online store and see all of our Altered Ego products.

Ultimate Lego Party - Thank You Notes

These were super easy thank you notes to whip up. I had them all printed and ready to go before we even had the party. I used bricks to spell out the words "Thank You", took a picture of it with my camera and then printed out the photos as 3x5 prints. I had some solid colored 4x6 cards with envelopes from Target which I adhered the pictures to. Viola! An easy and cute thank you note to go with our Lego theme.

Ultimate Lego Party - Invitations

These are the invitations I made for Cole's Lego party. I took a picture of him standing next to the large brick last time we visited the Lego store. Notice him trying so hard to hold up 3 fingers. The Lego font was downloaded from Urban Fonts. I used both Corel Draw as well as Photoshop to get the layout exactly how I wanted.

Letter of the Week - M

Additional activities for our M week included baking mini M&M muffins, cutting out M pictures from a magazine and an M tracing sheet. For the tracing sheet I print 4 letters in grey on a single sheet of paper. I let Cole trace one M with a marker, he stamped one of them with a M stamp, he used stickers to cover one of them and for the last he glued shapes.

Letter of the Week - M

This is another activity from the No Time for Flash Cards site. We made an M mountain using some cardstock, cotton balls, mulberry paper for the snow caps and felt flowers for the base of the mountain.

Ultimate Lego Party - Make Your Own Lego Crayons

We are gearing up for a Lego Birthday Party. One of the activities that we will be having is a coloring station with Lego Coloring Sheets as well as Lego Crayons. The crayons I made myself using some old crayons, a Lego Ice Bricks Tray, and my crockpot. I placed the broken crayons into the ice cube tray and then placed the tray in the crockpot with a liner. It took about an hour for all the crayons to melt. Once they did, I took turned the crockpot off and allowed the tray to cool slightly. After about 15 minutes I lifted the tray out and placed it into the refrigerator until the crayons were solid.

Letter of the Week - C

For our letter C week we also made a crown from recycled cardboard cereal box and had a little cutting practice. For cutting practice I pulled out some pages of a magazine with pictures of items that started with a C. Since we are just learning how to use scissors I drew a box around the items and helped Cole follow the guide lines to cut out the pictures. Then I let him use a glue stick and paste the pictures onto a 12x12 piece of paper.

Letter of the Week - C

I've started doing a lot of kids crafts with Cole. Recently, we started with projects revolving around a letter of the week. This week our letter was C. I decided to start with C since it is the first letter in Cole's name and he was familiar with it. Both of these activities came from the No Time For Flashcards site.

We made both a Caterpillar C as well as C cookies this week. The caterpillar was easy. I drew a large C and then let Cole paint it and add pom poms. Finally we added goggle eyes and pipe cleaner antenna. For the cookies, I just rolled out premade dough into C shapes and then baked them according to the package directions. As you can imagine, these were a bit hit.
