Fun Friday Giveaway...

Before I get to this week's giveaway I want to say hello from the beach. We are in St. Augustine with our family for our annual Labor Day vacation. In order to be entered to win a prize this week I need your help. Every year we take a family photo, one with everyone and one with just the 8 cousins. Here are last year's pictures. The group shot is what it is and will always be because I have to be in it. So tri-pod and remote is the best I can do. But, I'm looking for ideas for the kid picture. Leave me a comment with an idea for something fun, a link, or just a suggestion and you'll be entered to win a Yellow Fence prize. I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend. I'll draw a winner late Monday or early Tuesday once we get home!

First of all I think the group shot came out pretty good considering you used a tripod!! I love the blue and tan!!

I am sure you maybe have done this already but we love tan and white!! Especially on the beach! When we went to the OBX this past summer we found an old log and sat the kids on it and took their pictures (as well as a group shot) with the waves in the background. Came out great! I would send but we are off for the weekend in aout 10 minutes and I do not have time! Happy Labor Day!! (sniff, sniff, makes me sad Summer is over and it is back to routine!)

My favorite group shot is the - lay down in a big circle with your heads pointing towards the center and take the photo from above.

Hope you have a fabulous time!

My daughter and her friends do the circle shot often and it's fun watching the changes in them! I always do a picture of my kids the first day of school, on the sairs of the house; this year will be completely different as we are moving our son to college today! Guess that means I'm growing up! We always did group photos on my in-laws outside stairs, which eliminated the height issues! At a family reunion we had each "branch" wear different colours so you knew who belonged to who and made for some nice contrasts. Might be too late for this year's picture...

We like jeans and white shirts, but have also done jeans and color-coordinating shirts as well. pyramids are fun, but I also love the heads pointed to the center. We always try to do at least one shot with everyone being silly too.

Oh, and mommy southwick....the first person to leave a comment...I am curious to know who you are, as Southwick was my maiden name! That is not a common name! I'm sure we are related. You don't have contact info on your profile, but I do so email me!

I like stand in a circle in the sand, and get an above shot of everybodies bare feet....another fun one of the kids would be to get them all to jump...and try to catch them mid air.....

We took a picture of all the cousins in our family on a slide at the park. We put them in jeans and little red tshirts - lined them up by age and "stacked" them on one of the slides. We only have 4 grandkids, but it turned into one of the best pictures they've ever taken together

BRIBERY! (LOL, but seriously...it works!)
I have two boys 11 and almost 17 and bribery works! My youngest is way more cooperative than the oldest when it comes to picture taking though. Other than that you're just going to have to be FAST with a toddler!

My favorite beach shot is of all the kids holding hands, walking together, as they all look over their right shoulders back at us. They were lined up by height. All in Blue jeans and white shirts.
Another favorite is having them all lay in the surf on their bellies, where the surf ends at the beach looking up at us. They have to be patient and wait till the surf comes all the way up, but it's an awesome shot!

Write the family name in the sand and then have the kids all sit by it.

hmmm, maybe have them looking at each other instead of the camera, since there is an even number of kids, or looking slightly up & to one side. Or sitting on a beach blanket.
Love the blue & tan colors too! Have a great vacation!!
