Fun Friday Giveaway...

Well first off all I just have to say "Holy orders Batman"!!! Boy, we have been BUSY around here. I guess a lot of people are ordering for retreats, conventions and ScrapPink events. So for this week I want to hear what your favorite scrapbooking getaway is. For me it is every March when I fly to Chicago to visit a friend of mine for 3 or 4 days. We scrapbook all day and all night and it is just what I need to get caught up on all my stuff from the year. Leave a comment and I'll draw a winner on Wednesday. Don't forget to include your email if you don't have a Blogger account. Best of luck and have a great weekend!

My favorite scrapping get away is an annual event held by my very favorite local scrapbook store, The Memory Zone in Plymouth, IN. It is a weekend long event, lots of fun hours spent scrapping with friends, tons of great give aways, spa treatments, fun make & takes and demos, excellent meals...great specials...it is the best time a bunch of girls could have! I absolutely wouldn't miss it!

My favorite getaway is Cheasaning MI. We usually go in Feb. and again in the Fall (we are going first weekend in Oct.) It is nice to getaway and just scrap! Of course the company I scrap with makes the weekend. They are all such good friends. yes I see them on a regular basis but usually we are with the kids and it is nice just to be adults and be able to talk and eat and laugh and just SCRAP!!!!

My best friend, Brandy and I will be going on an all weekend retreat next month to Our Memory Cottage in Rogersville, MO. We are SOOO excited to get a break from our little ones (and hubbies) and do some serious scrapping! I have been to a few other retreats, but hope to make this one an annual tradition. We won't have to lift a finger...other than to scrap OF COURSE!! Thanks for these Fun Fridays! Toni in Missouri

My favourite scrapping getaway would be when my sisters, Mom & I get together to scrap!! I think we social more than we scrap but that is half the fun.

My next choice would be the event my Mom & sisters plan (here in Ontario Canada). Crop for the Cure is an annual fundraiser for breast cancer research. I don't actually get to crop but I have a fabulous day!!!

My favorite scrapping get away is my only scrapping get away.

3 times a year a woman my DH works with organizes a scrapping day at her church.

It is absolutely wonderful.

$25 gets you a 4x6 table and lunch and dinner.

12 hours of non-stop scrapbooking, ahhhh, it is the best!!

Well, of course, I'm biased, but I love Scrapbook Queen Getaways. We do local crops as week-end getaways that are the best!

I have been to an all day crop. That's it. I've heard tales of the Disney Hotel crop and the Creep Over in a cabin, croppin' cruises and such. They all sound wonderful. One day I hope to go to a weekend crop and this is what I think would be great. I would like to pay one price which includes everything, place to sleep, all my food, including dessert and drinks, all classes, my very own table where I can spread out. I do not want to have to get in my car at all, including to go buy food. I do not want to pack up my scrapbook stuff each time I need a break. I want to leave it in one spot the entire time. I do not want to share my table. No microphones where people are constantly shouting things about what is coming up next. Just leave me a program and then let me crop in peace. No interruptions to sell me things. No contests. Maybe have a large bulletin board for others to put pages they have created and want to show off. Of course, I'd love to be with great friends, but friends who don't talk the entire time about their pages and not allowing me to finish my pages. and I'd like there to be a place to get a margarita without getting in my car and leaving the place. A pleasant aroma would be nice, too. chocolate left on each table several times per day would be a plus. and several massage tables for 10-30 minute massages on call the entire time would be icing on the cake!!

I've never done an overnight getaway type things, but my sisters and some other scrap friends hit a number of crops thru out the year. In November we are going to a 15 hr one.

Any crop is a getaway for me! My favorite one though is a bi-annual PTA fundraiser with lots of great food and prizes. We always go home with sore ribs from laughing so hard!

My favorite Scrapbooking getaway is one of HilltopMemories retreats.
I've been to several of Linda's retreats and from church one day crops to 5 day cruises, she has the best crops!
My fav is Creepover held at Gold Head state park near Jacksonville Florida. We get in costume, have pumpkin creating contests, play halloween games, and we're in the spooky woods. It's just a great group of women having a great ole time!

We have a scrap club and meet the last Wed of the month to scrap and yak. This is our third year and we're going to do some different things, not just our own books. In Nov we're going to make Christmas cards (hopefully we'll mail them on the way home!) and throughout the year we're going to do a "me" scrapbook, a small album abot ourseves, the ones usually behind the camera! The other new thing we're going to do is donate our extra paper and stickers to the Stollery Children's hospital in Edmonton. A friend of my daughter's (age 14) just got diagnosed with cancer and each child there is given a scrapbookig kit (book, paper, stickers, adhesive, scissors etc), put together by a former patient, a 12 year old boy. So while we don't "retreat" very far we share our family stories and hope to make some for others. Canadian Jayne

My favorite is the Creating Keepsake Convention in Kansas City. I go every year and stay with my mom. We take classes and then go back to her house and scrap all weekend.

I like the one at my LSS. I usually go to the make and take since that seems the most time I can get away. I do walk away with something and that is fine. I would love to go to an all day event but right now that will not work.

Thanks, Lynn

My favorite was when my sisters and mom rented a hotel room centrally located for all of us. We ordered in, scrapped all night and day. The only downfall was limited space in the room. My sister has a lot of stuff!!
