I have had this "family" montage up in our front room pretty much since we moved in. I love it since there really isn't anything else in that room, and it's one of the first things that you see when you walk through the front door.
Tonight I added a "friends" wall to the hallway. I still have a little tweaking to do. The 5x7 picture on the top center needs a frame (although the painter's tape is a nice touch) and I think I want to move the bottom row around a little. But at least it's up!
The letters came from Walmart. They come in white and you can find them in the baby section. I bought them a few years ago but they still have them. I sprayed them with black paint and used all black picture frames with some different sized matting. When I first started the "family" project I gathered up some non-black frames that I had that I was planning to get rid of and sprayed them along with the letters. This was a cheap way to create a uniform look.
And my Laser Eye update - as of Thursday afternoon I had 20/20 vision in my left eye and 20/25 in my right. My eyes feel great and this morning they felt totally normal.

Yes! Nice inspiration for me - working on my first grouped frames of family photos.
The letters from Wal-Mart must be on clearance now - bought mine a week ago at a dollar a piece. They look great, don't they?
Have a good one!
getting my eyes lasered is something i wanna do one day.
WOW, your family and friends wall is just gorgeous!! Also loved the IKEA hack site you shared. Hopefully I can get hubby to rig something like that for me someday. Big hugs, Leah
