Fun Friday Giveaway...

For this week's giveaway I want you to tell me... what is your favorite part of summer? Mine is spending time in and around the water. Beach, pool, kiddie pool, splash park, it doesn't matter. Leave a comment and you'll be entered to win an item from Yellow Fence. Remember, if you don't have a Blogger account, be sure to leave your email address. Good luck and have a great weekend!

My favorite part of summer is having no schedule. If we want to get up and have a lazy day hanging out and playing in the yard or the sprinkler that is what we do. Or if we want to get up and go somewhere that it is nice not having to rush back for school or games or whatever.

summer, time for slapping on sunscreen and slapping at mosquitos! We get a lot of winter and are more than ready to get outside! I love having no schedule and being able to throw burgers on the grill at 5:15 so dinner is ready when my husband comes home from work and we can then eat outside. When the kids were younger we'd drive out to the lake for the day or fill the backyard pool and laze with their friends. Now they work and drive themselves so it's just the dog and I enjoying the lazy dogdays of summer! If it would only stop raining... Canadian Jayne

Mommy southwick has my answer- I'll have to check out her blog. :)

Seriously though, it is so nice to not have to anything at any certain time. No stress. That said- we love swimming, sand & surf. And eating fresh "steamahs"! and not having to bundle up to go outdoors! The sunshine and smell of sunblock just scream summer to me.
But my absolute favorite is being freshly showered after a long hot day on the beach and laying down around the tv at night with the girls. So comfy!

I love that I'm not freezing to death! lol I'm almost always cold any other time of the year, just the way my body's programed I guess. My husband thinks I'm a nut!

Summer, even humid days are a welcome treat. Even though my hair looks like a mad scientist when the humidity is high!

My favorite part of summer now is I don't have to get up at 5:45 am to get my son off to school! And of course the old saying of "the lazy days of summer" we are always trying to be lazy, playing on the water slide, lazy eating late dinners, lazy at the zoo, "lazy" is the key to our summer. We may be busy, but we are not as worried about time during the summer months!!! Oh, and of course eating lots of ice cream!

First of all I love the summer because I am off from work. I love going camping with my husband and two Shih Tzus with or without friends. While camping we try to catch some fish to smoke in the smoker, go for long romantic walks meanwhile picking up after the dogs, hike where ever the path takes us, read for pleasure, bbq, and enjoy the wonderful weather even when it rains. Which sometimes includes a trip back to town for more fresh water... As well as listening to John Denver like my family did while camping when I was a child. Last but not least, I have to scrapbook while camping. I take what I need for little projects and since I am away from home I cannot be too picky because the scrappin bag I take only holds so much. Thats my summer and I am sticking to it!

I love washing the car with the kids. For no real reason, this seemingly boring but necessary chore always turns into fits of giggles and silly singing and dancing.

My favorite part of summer is to be able to laze around, when it's not too sweltering hot out there. And then when it is... to be able to laze around in/near the water.

OK, so here it is, Monday night in my neck of the woods and no one has won the Friday Giveaway prize!!! And no, I didn't make anything for it being Monday but I did sort out a lot of scrapbooking paper into colours or themes instead of actually cleaning out the basement... Canadian Jayne
