Baby Signs

I did signing with Cole years ago when he was right around 1. I knew that I wanted to start even younger with Kiley. Here is some footage of her signing "more". I use this site as my main resource for signs because it has a detailed glossary. I will admit that I haven't been teaching her as many words as I did to Cole. Probably because she doesn't seem as frustrated by things and is way more laid back than he ever was. In the video she is 9 months old.

Crafting Boycott...

I don't usually post personal stuff over here, but I just couldn't resist this one.  I had these paper towel rolls laying out for Cole to make a craft after his nap and he told me he didn't want to make anything he just wanted "play" with the tubes.  So that's what we did.

Once the pink tutu was complete I took some pictures of Kiley in it. I think they turned out pretty good.

Thank You Note...

I've always been a fan of creative thank you notes. Recently I made Lego Thank You Notes for Cole's 3rd birthday party. After Kiley was born I needed lots of cards and I needed them quickly. I took a picture we had of her from in the hospital, used photoshop to convert it to black and white, added some text. I printed the pictures and mounted them on solid colored blank note cards. There you have an adorable, personalized thank you note.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I took over 1000 pictures last week and there are definatly some goodies in the bunch. I still haven't had a chance to sort through the group shots, you know to see who is picking their nose or has their eyes closed, but I did want to share a picture I took of Cole playing on the beach after we had taken all the family pictures. I Have Decided...

I have decided that my favorite (and best) photos of Cole are taken from above him. There is just something about that happy face looking up at me that makes me smile. With the above/looking down picture I've also discovered a few other things... 1) He can't grab the camera 2) Evidently, I'm a riot 3) I can play with my depth of field a little and focus on his cute face. The first picture was take this past weekend on our trip to SeaWorld (more pics coming from that as well as some info on the new lens that Santa brought me), the middle pic is the one I used on our custom Jone's Soda bottles for his birthday, and the bottom picture is our Christmas Card for this year.
