I just heard from my friend Kristi that Once Upon a Family is going to be closing its doors as of June 30th. What that means is that right now all items are 40% off. I'm going to be ordering another Dear Sweet Child Letter Box for baby #2 which is due in November as well as a Handprint Book to keep as a gift for someone down the line. If you know anyone who is having a baby soon I would highly recommend the Letter Box as a gift idea for them. I love the one I have done for Cole. This week for Make Something Monday I'm sharing a little something over on the Memories for Everyone blog. My "Character Welcome" album is something I started a few years ago. It's a 4x6 - 2 up photo album where I keep any pictures of us with Disney or other characters. Go visit the Memories for Everyone blog to see some of the inside pictures.

Make Something Monday...

This is it! The last book in Cole's Dear Sweet Child Letter Box. Or at least it's the last book until he turns 2. I'm glad I did this one close to his 2nd birthday because I can really capture him at 1, and man do I love him at 1. I also love the look of the Dymo Tape on the pages. It adds just enough something to the project. I printed the little prints on my Epson PictureMate Printer and I think they make the book. I highly recommend a printer that you can print photos from in your house. They really aren't that expensive and for me it will never replace high quality prints from a real developer, but in a pinch they do just fine.

This is another Memories for Everyone product that I have wanted for a while. I did some work on their site in exchange for this beautiful Precious Handprints Album. It has 25 thick pages with spots for your children's hand-prints. I had Cole do his the other day when we were outside painting. I was originally going to create something more "scrapbooky" to go along the bottom but I decided just to use their fill-in-the-blank questions to keep it simple. I love that bright green hand right in the middle of the page. For the print I used basic finger paint that we had gotten at Target. I let it dry for a few days before putting it back on the shelf.

Ok, here is the 2nd book from Cole's Dear Sweet Child Letter Box. Man, I love this set. This book is for his first year. This book was harder to back track on than the day he was born book because I wanted to include some of his first year milestones. That of course required digging out his baby book and looking some stuff up. I will say it was a nice walk down memory lane. Man, they grow up fast. Once again, I used the Dymo Tape for the titles and printed little mini pictures on my Epson PictureMate Printer. They books are a little bigger than 4x6 so I didn't want to waste too much room on larger photos. Ok, now I've got 2 of his books done and I only need to do 1 more before August.

Some of you may remember that a while ago I had put the Dear Sweet Child Letter Box on my wish list for Mother's Day. Well I did receive the box as a gift and I've been working to get caught up with Cole's books. I've decided to 1 little booklet for the day he was born, then his first year, and from then on I'll do Cole at 1, Cole at 2, etc. I used Dymo Tape for a title and I printed small mini prints on my Epson PictureMate Printer. I love the way they are turning out. My goal is to be caught up with all 3 of his books by his 2nd birthday in August. 1 down, 2 to go.

Memories For Everyone - Part 2...

Ok, so in my post last week I raved about a new site, Memories For Everyone, and my favorite new product, Dear Sweet Child Letter Box. Well, I wanted to show you what my friend Kristi is doing with the booklets that come with the box. For each booklet (it comes with 22) she is capturing a little bit about her daughter at each year in her life. She also included in the booklet a letter from Mommy, which I love. I just can't even imagine how cool it would be to have this filled with information about every year of my life. What I wanted to be when I grew up, my favorite foods, etc. What an incredible gift to give to someone.

I wanted to share a cool site with you. My good friend has started to work with this company and has launched Memories For Everyone. They have some adorable products that make scrapbooking easy. The best part is that there are items for scrapbookers and non-scrapbookers. This item is on my Mother's Day Wish List. It comes with 22 little books to write out a letter to your child on the day they are born and then each year on their birthday. It's called the Dear Sweet Child Letter Box. It would make an incredible Mother's Day gift for a new Mom. I'm pretty sure this is going to become my standard Baby Shower gift for anyone I know who is pregnant. Somewhere in my email I have pictures of the little books inside the box. I'll see if I can find them for you guys.
