Make Something Design...

I'm trying really hard to get back into the swing of making stuff again. In honor of that I added a Make Something design to the shop. It's available in shirts, totes and mugs.

Make Something Monday...

No new scrapbooking projects to share because we've been too busy carving pumpkins and toasting pumpkin seeds. I love reading all your comments about your favorite part of Halloween. It is by far my favorite holiday.

Make Something Monday...

Today I took Cole's picture for his "white shirt" album. This is an idea I got from my friend Kristi (I think she saw it on Oprah). Every year around his birthday I'm taking a picture of him in his Dad's dress shirt. I'm compiling these into an album for him.

Make Something Monday...

So last Monday I worked on Cole's Birthday Album. I'm pretty sure that I've shared this before, but not the pictures from his 2nd birthday party. This is a 6x12 Westrim album that I got years ago. I have it all tabbed out for 2 6x12 pages and 2 of the 3 4x6 pages for each birthday from birth to age 21. I love this easy format for keeping all his birthday memories in one place.

Make Something Monday...

I discovered the Wordle site a few weeks ago and man is that fun. Lots of potential for titles for scrapbook pages or a cool card. I've just played around with it so far, but I book marked it for future use. If you've created something you want to share post a link in the comments and maybe I'll feature your creation in a future Make Something Monday.

Make Something Monday...

This album was actually a gift from my friend Kristi. It's an album from Target that I'm pretty sure she got on clearance. It holds a few 4x6 and 1 5x7 picture per page. I'm been using this as my everyday album for 2008. I think for 2009 I'm going to switch over to Stacy Jullian's system. But this album has been a great way to keep track of our everyday memories.

Make Something Monday...

Can you even believe that summer is over? Here are some images from my summer album that I have almost completed. I took 3 or 4 pictures a week of stuff we were doing and put just 1 picture per page. I stamped a circle around the month and day of our activity and I'm putting all these pages in a 9x9 Heidi Swapp spiral album.

Make Something Monday...

This is another digital book I made using iPhoto. I really like using the Apple products because it is integrated with where I already have all my digital pictures stored. I made this medium sized book (6x8 inches) last year after a family trip to Sea World. It was an easy way to share pictures with everyone without have to make a bunch of prints and put them in an album.

Make Something Monday...

This is our 2nd installment in the Digital MSM edition. This is a little picture book that Kristi made for us after our visit to Chicago. I guess great minds think alike. She ordered hers from Shutterfly. It is about 3x3 inches and came with a really nice hard bound cover.

Make Something Monday...

I wanted to focus the next few weeks on digital books. I am NOT a digital scrapbooker, but I do take tons of digital pictures. This little book was made using iPhoto on my Mac and uploading it directly to Apple's site to have it printed. It is very small, about 2x3 inches and you had to order it as a 3 pack. I'm pretty sure it was $9.99 for all 3 of them. I made these to send as a thank you to Kristi's girls for playing so nicely and being such great hosts to Cole while we were in Chicago. Since I received 3 of them I let Cole keep one so he could flip through pictures of him with his new friends. Nothing fancy, but it is done. And it made a great little gift to send the girls.

Make Something Monday...

This week for Make Something Monday I'm sharing a little something over on the Memories for Everyone blog. My "Character Welcome" album is something I started a few years ago. It's a 4x6 - 2 up photo album where I keep any pictures of us with Disney or other characters. Go visit the Memories for Everyone blog to see some of the inside pictures.

Make Something Monday (or not)...

I'm knee deep in 2nd birthday plans so there's nothing for me to share tonight. Here's a little inspiration for this week. I'll be back next Monday with something homemade.

Make Something Monday...

What are you working on today? I've been dabbling in the digital world getting invitations ready for Cole's 2nd birthday party. I am 100% NOT a digital scrapbooker so this is something a little new for me. I cropped and touched up the pictures in Photoshop and then created the layout in CorelDRAW. They will be printed as 5x7 pictures either at Walmart or Shutterfly.

Make Something Monday...

So have you ever had pictures left over from a page or a project you were working on? Of course you have! Well I got the idea for this little project from my friend Kristi, who I think might have gotten it from Ali Edwards, but I'm not sure, maybe she came up with it on her own. Any time I have pictures left over from a page I've been working on I hole punch them, type out a word that goes with the picture with Dymo Tape, and then put them in this cute little index card binder. The binders and dividers are available at any office supply store and you can get them in a variety of colors. It has become an adorable collaboration of random pictures that I loved too much to throw away.

Make Something Monday...

This is it! The last book in Cole's Dear Sweet Child Letter Box. Or at least it's the last book until he turns 2. I'm glad I did this one close to his 2nd birthday because I can really capture him at 1, and man do I love him at 1. I also love the look of the Dymo Tape on the pages. It adds just enough something to the project. I printed the little prints on my Epson PictureMate Printer and I think they make the book. I highly recommend a printer that you can print photos from in your house. They really aren't that expensive and for me it will never replace high quality prints from a real developer, but in a pinch they do just fine.

Make Something Monday...

This is another Memories for Everyone product that I have wanted for a while. I did some work on their site in exchange for this beautiful Precious Handprints Album. It has 25 thick pages with spots for your children's hand-prints. I had Cole do his the other day when we were outside painting. I was originally going to create something more "scrapbooky" to go along the bottom but I decided just to use their fill-in-the-blank questions to keep it simple. I love that bright green hand right in the middle of the page. For the print I used basic finger paint that we had gotten at Target. I let it dry for a few days before putting it back on the shelf.
